It’s Slam Poetry Sunday and I have been trying to get a feel of things, so here goes nothing:
The corner of Leave and Stay
He stands at the corner
of Leave and Stay,
uncertainty, mistrust
along each way.
He stands at the corner
of Leave and Stay,
there is a price to pay
either way.
Whether it be his failure,
deemed unjust.
Or his hardships,
well, that’s a must.
He stands at the corner
of Leave and Stay,
while his lifeless soul
fades away.
Abuse and neglect,
if he goes down Stay.
Hurt and reject,
if he goes down Leave.
He stands at the corner
for a hundred years,
and asks himself day by day,
procrastinating till this day:
“Should I Leave or should I Stay?”
Just a thought on this, I believe that even when we don’t write about our personal experiences, there is always an element you embodied in what you write, whether it be factual or fiction, so it ultimately is personal. Learning and enjoying this part of the journey. Thank you for taking your time to read this!
